Masquedós, the Extension Journal of the National University of the Center of the Province of Buenos Aires, announces that the call for submissions of academic articles and bibliographic reviews remains open throughout the year, with biannual publication periods (June and December).
Contributions will be received entirely through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, by registering with username and password.
Teachers, researchers, experts and extension workers from all Argentine and foreign universities can write. Advanced students, members of civil society organizations, officials from municipal, provincial and national governments who participate in extension practices can also submit as co-authors. Articles in Spanish or Portuguese are allowed.

Masquedós Journal accepts the following types of documents:
1.Research articles: present original and unpublished results arising as a product of systematic research processes or extension projects, programs and practices. Academic articles must be located in one of the sections provided by the magazine (see Approach and Escope)
2. Bibliographic Reviews: present and discuss a work of specialized literature, usually books. The reviewer is expected to account for the objective, development, contributions and limitations of the publication reviewed.

PUBLICATION RULES
1. Authors
- May include up to a maximum of 4 authors. Authorship in a scientific paper should be attributed solely to those who: a) substantially contribute to the research/article; b) participate in the construction of preliminary versions or in the review of the article's content; c) approve the final version of the article to be published; and d) take responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of what is expressed in the article.
- The following information about each author must be included at the beginning of the submitted document: full name, academic or institutional affiliation, e-mail and ORCID code. If you do not have your ORCID code, you can obtain it by registering at https://orcid.org/signin
- The above information, from all authors of the article, must also be completed when uploading your submission in the OJS system in the Metadata section.
- Authorship data will be preserved during the double-blind peer review process.
- Authors may not submit more than 1 (one) article per call.

2. Document format
General guidelines: Documents submitted must be in Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, RTF or WordPerfect format and must follow these formatting guidelines: A4 sheet, Normal margins (3.0 cm right and left and 2.5 cm top and bottom), Open Sans or Times New Roman 11 font and single spacing; to highlight words italics should be used instead of underlining (except in URL addresses).
Submitted documents may have a maximum of 15 pages for academic articles, 10 for articles in the Extension in Motion section and 5 for Bibliographic Reviews, including references, footnotes and tables.

Explanatory notes: All explanatory notes must be incorporated as footnotes (notes at the end of the document or footnotes from the title, authors or abstract are not allowed). Footnotes should be indicated with Arabic numerals and used to make clarifications about the content of the document and not to include bibliographic references.
Format: Open Sans  of Times New Roman 8 font, single spacing.
If the work arises as part of a project (extension, research, chair, etc.) the full name of the project, reference number and funding entity, if any, must be indicated in a footnote. Avoid incorporating data that could lead to the identification of the authors such as the names of those who direct / co-direct or are part of such projects.

Tables, charts and figures: all tables, charts and figures, if possible, should be editable in the document. They must have a title, be numbered and cited in the text before their presentation. They must include source of preparation and be inserted in their corresponding locations. All figures must be legible and high quality.

Citation and referencing standards: The magazine uses the American Psychological Association (APA) system, 7th edition (https://apastyle.apa.org/). Below are some general guidelines. More examples can be found at the end of this section or at https://normas-apa.org/.
- Citations will be made within the text in the general format of author (year) or (author, year). In the case of two authors, author & author (year) or (author & author, year) will be indicated. In the case of three or more authors, only the last name of the first author will be used, followed by the words "et al." and then the year of publication. For example, author et al. (year) or (author et al., year). If two or more documents by the same author and year of publication are cited, a lowercase letter (a, b, c) will be used immediately after the year of publication to differentiate them. For example (author, 2023a) and (author, 2023b).
- Textual quotes of less than 40 words will be put in quotation marks within the paragraph. Those exceeding 40 words will be in a separate paragraph, without quotation marks and with a 1.5 cm left indent. In both cases, the page from which the textual quote was taken must be indicated, following the indications of the APA 7th edition standards. For example (author, year, p. 23).
- Bibliographic references will be included in a section at the end of the document under the heading "References". The existence of total correspondence between the citation in the body of the text and the references included must be verified. Whenever possible, the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) or consultation link (URL) should be included.

References must be presented in alphabetical order. In the case of two or more publications by the same author, those published only by the author are recorded first, followed by references with other authors ordered alphabetically by last name. They will also be ordered according to their year of publication (from oldest to most recent). If two or more documents by the same author and year of publication are referenced, a lowercase letter (a, b, c) will be used immediately after the year of publication to differentiate them.

3. Writing
The writing should be clear, precise and conceptually rigorous. Excessive use of acronyms and footnotes that hinder the fluid reading of the document is discouraged.
Those who write the documents submitted for evaluation are urged to take into account the use of non-sexist language, considering gender diversity and not using only the masculine gender.

4. Structure and content
The structure of the work will have the following sections (in this order): title, abstract and keywords; introduction, body of work, conclusion or final contributions and references.

I. Title, abstract and keywords:
Title: should be concise and correspond to the content of the work. Have up to 15 words and be written respecting capital and lowercase letters. Footnotes clarifying the title of the article are not allowed.
Abstract: Should be equal to or less than 250 words. It is important that the abstract presents a brief introduction to the research topic-problem, presents the objective of the work, briefly outlines the methodology and methods used (if applicable) and indicates the main results and contributions. Avoid including references.
Keywords: a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 single or compound words must be specified; presented in alphabetical order and separated by semicolons (;).

The title, abstract and keywords must be written in the original language of the publication. If the document is approved for publication and was originally written in Spanish, the incorporation of title, abstract and keywords in Portuguese and English will be requested; if the document is approved for publication and was originally written in Portuguese, the incorporation of title, abstract and keywords in Spanish and English will be requested.

In the case of Bibliographic Reviews, the following must be indicated:
1. Full title of the reviewed work
2. Full name of its authors, editors or compilers
3. Year of publication and edition number of the book
4. Name of publisher and place of publication
5. ISBN
6. Access URL or download site
7. Keywords

II.  Introduction:
Should present a brief delineation of the research topic-problem with respect to the specific disciplinary field of university extension. A review of the background should be made to demonstrate the novelty of the contributions and justify the importance of the work. It is recommended to present the research objective, as well as a paragraph that accounts for the structure of the document.

III.  Development:
It will consist of the sections and subsections that the authors deem pertinent to incorporate for the fulfillment of the proposed objectives. For academic articles it is recommended that the content of the body of the work follows the traditional structure of sections referring to theoretical framework, methodology and results, beyond the particular title assigned to such sections. In relation to this, it is suggested:
- Theoretical framework or literature review: includes the logical sequence of the background of the research topic-problem as well as the presentation of the perspective, approach or vision of university extension within which the study is framed. They are expected to present conceptual references to university extension and a critical analysis in which the addressed topic-problem is problematized. An up-to-date and relevant bibliographic review should be sought.
- Methodology: should present and justify the methods, techniques and sources used in order to fulfill the proposed objectives.
- Results and discussion: should demonstrate a relationship between the background and the results of the work. An analytical presentation of the results is suggested in order to establish a dialogue based on the contributions of the work.

IV. Conclusion or final contributions:
It is suggested to emphasize the novel contributions of the document to the field of university extension, expose the limitations of the work and propose future lines of research. It is important to recover and discuss the results of the study in light of the theoretical perspectives and background within which the work is framed.

V. References:
Only those references cited in the body of the text should be incorporated following the format indicated by the APA 7th edition Standards. Some examples are indicated below. More examples can be found at https://normas-apa.org/.

Enfoques
