Abstract

Abstract: The education-work relationship is a matter of concern for many actors in the social sphere, especially when it comes to youth. Considering the development of psychological science in this interface, assumptions of developmental psychology have allied with theories of personality and the world of work, and configured the supposedly neutral and scientific practice of career counseling as a prominent representative of the category, with continuous demands for adaptation and better use of resources of various orders. From the perspective of the production of subjectivity, we defend the proposition that the doubt about the professional choice involves not only issues considered individual, but says, in fact, a variety of social processes that produce possibilities for certain groups and impossibilities for others - helps us, therefore, in the discussion about the subject, choices, education, work, youth, professional practice and, consequently, in the production of knowledge. In this way, the present text seeks, by exploring how it affects the different forms of juvenile expressions, to present a university extension project that finds in the practice of professional orientation the power to work the education-work relationship in a critical and singular way, as well as its conditions of possibility related to the approximation of Paulo Freire's ideas with the construction of an extensionist practice that becomes political, in commitment to liberation.
