Intersections between University Extension, Research and Teaching. Rescue experience of the cultural and archival heritage of the Federación Obrera Tucumana de la Industria Azucarera

The aim of this article is to reflect on the different functions of the University from the teaching role of training and leading an interdisciplinary team composed of graduates and students, and its intersections with the tasks of extension and research. For this purpose, an analysis is made on a joint work experience between the said team, belonging to the Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (UNT) and the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET), and the Federación Obrera Tucumana de la Industria Azucarera (FOTIA) -one of the most important trade union organizations in the Argentine Northwest-.
In particular, the aim is to analyze the link between research training processes from a social history perspective that has the community as an addressee and a fundamental part of the process, together with the description of the work of rescuing the cultural and archival heritage, understanding it as a constituent part of the identity of the region of northern Argentina.
It is assumed that the intertwining of the present processes with the actions of the University in the community strengthen and promote the production of scientific knowledge. This article is based on our own experience, together with the specialized bibliography and press releases that give an account of the steps taken.
