Abstract

This work narrates the experience in an extension project: “Green Invasion”, carried out by members of the Faculty of Agronomy of Azul (National University of the Center of the Province of Buenos Aires, UNICEN), small producers from the district of Azul and students and teachers of the Agrarian School of the city. In it, work was done on the need to find production technologies for integrated systems (grain cultivation/forage-based meat production) that are more environmentally friendly. Meetings/debates were held, tours of demonstration plots planted for this purpose of annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam) and bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.), workshops, production of film material and dissemination through official university media. The results were enriching for students, producers and other members of the extension team, achieving a co-construction of in situ knowledge about the sustainable typical food production of the region of influence, based mainly on the mixture of forage species, correct choice of bread wheat genotypes and application of a biostimulant. In addition, links were generated for other possible actions and the importance of generating intervention practices in the territory with undergraduate students was evident.
